Weekend BookBlogger Hop: 70

The BookBlogger Hop is hosted by Billy from Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer every weekend. Basically, if you blog about books, answer a question provided and if you link to their post in your blog, you can add your blog to their list of participants. This week’s question is:

Have you stopped accepting books from either authors or publishers to  try to catch up? If not, do you think you would ever do that?

I get emails about books that are available for review, and unfortunately with school work and everything, I don’t usually have time, so yes, I have. I did just accept a Netgalley book, though, that I am going to be starting soon!

Book Trailer: Kiss of Fire

Kiss of Fire
by Rebecca Ethington

Joclyn Despain has been marred by a brand on her skin. She doesn’t know why the mark appeared on her neck, but she doesn’t want anyone to see it, including her best friend Ryland, who knows everything else about her. The scar is the reason she hides herself behind baggy clothes, and won’t let the idea of kissing Ryland enter her mind, no matter how much she wants to.
The scar is the reason she is being hunted.
If only she knew that she was.
If only she had known that the cursed stone her estranged father sent for her 16th birthday would trigger a change in her. Now, she is being stalked by a tall blonde man, and is miraculously throwing her high school bully ten feet in the air.
Joclyn attempts to find some answers and the courage to follow her heart. When Ryland finds her scar; only he knows what it means, and who will kill her because of it.

Release Day: Soul of Flame

HAPPY RELEASE TO SOUL OF FLAME BY REBECCA ETHINGTON!

About Soul of Flame…

Book Four in the Imdalind Series, expected release December 2013

The Time for the final battle has come.
Edmund’s armies have surrounded the Rioseco Abbey, trapping the few survivors inside. The sight that Ilyan was given a thousand years ago is about to come to pass.
If only Joclyn was able to fight.
Joclyn is tormented by the hallucinations that Cail’s mind has left her with, her magic an uncontrollable torrent that even Ilyan cannot control. Her moments of lucidity are broken by fears of dripping pipes and bleeding walls, and a desire to kill Ryland that she is having trouble trying to ignore.
The sight has shown her power, shown her success, but it has also shown her death – The end of her life something she is not quite willing to give up on yet.
Even past her death, the sight has shown her love, and that love may be the only key to her sanity, to her strength, and to Edmund’s death.
That love may stand in her way, and a single choice may tip the scales and secure their future, or destroy their fate.

The tanned skin of his face slowly faded to white before the red of his lips painted blue. He clawed at his neck as an invisible force squeezed the life out of him. I only smiled as I watched him fight it, knowing it was pointless, knowing I wouldn’t let him get away.

“Rose Garcia will explode your mind with action packed scenes and emotional turmoil.” – Moonlight Book Reviews

“The whole transhuman concept had the whole Sci-Fi/Fantasy element going on, yet Rose Garcia has written it in a way that is both fresh and believable, with the classic good versus evil theme incorporated.” – Always YA at Heart

“Final Life is filled with magical moments, heart aching moments, action, and suspense. I look forward to the next chapter of Dominique’s story.” – WinterHaven Books

Rose Garcia is a lawyer turned writer who’s always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy. From a very young age, she often had her nose buried in books about other-worlds, fantastical creatures, and life and death situations. More recently she’s been intrigued by a blend of science fiction and reality, and the idea that some supernatural events are, indeed, very real. Fueled by her imagination, she created The Transhuman Chronicles–a series of books about people who have overcome human limitations.

Weekend BookBlogger Hop: 69

The BookBlogger Hop is hosted by Billy from Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer every weekend. Basically, if you blog about books, answer a question provided and if you link to their post in your blog, you can add your blog to their list of participants. This week’s question is:

How do you handle unsolicited books that appear in your mailbox?  Do you add them to your queue?  Do you write to the sender and explain you  didn’t ask for the book and are not sure when you will be able to read  and review the book?  Or do you simply not read the book at all?

Umm, I wish this would happen to me! I have never had this experience. However, if a book randomly showed up one day, as long as it piqued my interest, I would definitely read it. If it came with a request to review it, I would do that, too. I would also write to the sender to let them know that I received the book and that a review will be up soon.
